El presidente Iv\u00e1n Duque plante\u00f3 este viernes la creaci\u00f3n de un fondo regional de emergencia para el Caribe, regi\u00f3n que se vio “con inmensas dificultades” <\/i>para acceder a recursos de mitigaci\u00f3n y vacunas contra la covid-19. <\/p> \n
(Duque pide \u201cfinura\u201d en alzas de tasas para no frenar la reactivaci\u00f3n).\u00a0 <\/p> \n
“Colombia quiere plantear que tengamos una herramienta, un fondo regional para este tipo de situaciones y que podamos convocar al BID, al Banco Mundial y a la CAF, para tener una respuesta efectiva y que nos permita desde la experiencia propia del FOME para enfrentar la pandemia, que un veh\u00edculo multilateral de ese alcance pueda estar siempre a disposici\u00f3n y que est\u00e9 siempre disponible para enfrentar cualquier circunstancia”, <\/i>dijo Duque durante la instalaci\u00f3n de la II Cumbre Ministerial Colombia-Caricom que se celebra este viernes en Barranquilla. <\/p> \n
Es preciso destacar que Comunicad del Caribe (Caricom) es un mecanismo de integraci\u00f3n compuesto por, en su mayor\u00eda, islas de las Antillas menores del Caribe. Colombia participa como pa\u00eds observador del bloque.<\/b> <\/p> \n
En su alocuci\u00f3n, el presidente Duque mostr\u00f3 el compromiso de Colombia por ser un actor representativo en la regi\u00f3n, por lo cual buscan la creaci\u00f3n de un acuerdo de cooperaci\u00f3n en el corto, mediano y largo plazo con el bloque continental. <\/p> \n

“Queremos fortalecer la cooperaci\u00f3n Sur-Sur y, adem\u00e1s, Colombia quiere dejar establecido un marco de cooperaci\u00f3n de corto, mediano y largo plazo con intercambios laborales, educativos, cient\u00edficos, apoyo a gesti\u00f3n de desastres naturales, seguridad, y reactivaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica”,<\/i> agreg\u00f3 el mandatario nacional. <\/p> \n
