En 2010 el procurador Alejandro Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez la destituy\u00f3 como senadora e inhabilit\u00f3 por 18 a\u00f1os por supuestamente tener v\u00ednculos con la guerrilla. Durante seis a\u00f1os C\u00f3rdoba dio la pelea y bajo la asesor\u00eda de la penalista Mar\u00eda Ximena Castilla Jim\u00e9nez logr\u00f3 revertir la decisi\u00f3n. Ahora el tema volvi\u00f3 a salir a flote, tras las declaraciones de su exasesor Andr\u00e9s V\u00e1squez ante las autoridades colombianas y reveladas por Noticias Caracol. <\/p> \n <p> Ante las acusaciones en su contra por supuestamente dilatar la liberaci\u00f3n de secuestrados, particularmente el de Ingrid Betancourt, para tener r\u00e9ditos pol\u00edticos y beneficiar al gobierno venezolano, Ximena Castilla volvi\u00f3 a tomar las riendas de su defensa jur\u00eddica. La penalista defender\u00e1 a Piedad C\u00f3rdoba tras las declaraciones de su exasesor Andr\u00e9s V\u00e1squez que declar\u00f3 en un reportaje de Noticias Caracol que estuvo presente con la exsenadora cuando se reun\u00eda con Iv\u00e1n M\u00e1rquez, Ra\u00fal Reyes, Jes\u00fas Santrich y Rodrigo Granda para sugerirles c\u00f3mo deb\u00edan ser las liberaciones de los secuestrados. <\/p> \n <p> Castilla, penalista de la Universidad Externado, es feminista y ha defendido los derechos de la mujer y los derechos humanos, especialmente sexuales y reproductivos. Entre sus casos m\u00e1s sonados ha estado la retractaci\u00f3n del gobierno colombiano ante la Comisi\u00f3n Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) por el caso de la campesina Alba Luc\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez Cardona que fue violada y el bebe muri\u00f3 en el parto pero un m\u00e9dico dictamin\u00f3 que ella hab\u00eda asfixiado a la beb\u00e9 y fue condenada a 6 a\u00f1os en la c\u00e1rcel.
